Student Assistant, Digital Development - Viby

Arla Foods

Fra Phenom

Would you like to use data and technology to solve real challenges in logistics? Are you curious about Power BI, Power Apps, automation, simulation, or coding and motivated to see your work used in daily operations? Join our Digital Development team and gain practical experience creating solutions that support Arla’s warehouses, distribution activities, and dairies.

How will you make an impact

As a Student Assistant in Digital Development, you will help turn operational needs into practical, user-friendly digital solutions. Working closely with colleagues in warehouses, distribution, and dairies, you will contribute throughout the development journey; from understanding a challenge and creating a prototype to testing, implementation, documentation, and further improvement.

You will

  • Develop and improve Power BI reports, dashboards, and decision-support tools.
  • Help build Power Apps and Power Automate solutions that simplify processes and reduce repetitive manual work.
  • Support simulations, digital models, and prototypes that allow the team to test ideas before wider implementation.
  • Use data, coding, and scripting to transform information, connect systems, and add useful functionality.
  • Gather input from users, translate operational challenges into clear requirements, and test solutions with the people who will use them.
  • Assist with maintaining, documenting, and continuously improving existing digital solutions.
  • Be part of a small, dedicated team where your contributions truly make an impact.

This role is ideal for a student who enjoys experimenting with technology, solving practical problems, and developing ideas into tools that colleagues can use in their daily work. You are not expected to know every technology from day one; technical curiosity, initiative, and willingness to learn are equally important.

What will make you successful

You are someone who is passionate about turning data and technology into practical tools that make a real difference for our operations. You think beyond reporting -  you focus on what decisions colleagues need to take, and how digital products can help them act earlier, faster, and smarter.

You thrive in the space between business and technology, where you translate operational challenges into intuitive, proactive, decision‑support solutions. You enjoy working with data, but you get most energy from seeing your tools in the hands of users and watching them improve the day‑to‑day execution.

To succeed in this role, you

  • Are currently enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s programme within areas such as IT, software development, data science, engineering, business intelligence, supply chain, logistics, or a comparable field.
  • Expect to have at least one year remaining of your studies.
  • Have some exposure to (or the motivation to learn)  o Power BI, data modelling, and visualising operational information. o Power Apps, Power Automate, or similar low-code technologies. o SQL, databases, APIs, and data integration. o Programming, scripting, automation, or simulation.
  • Designing intuitive digital tools for technical and non-technical users.
  • Have an interest in, or willingness to learn about, improvement methodologies such as Lean, Agile, or other continuous-improvement frameworks.
  • Are curious, structured, and able to break down problems into clear digital requirements.
  • Communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical teams and enjoy gathering user input
  • Are comfortable asking questions and constructively challenging assumptions while learning from experienced colleagues.
  • Communicate clearly in Danish and English and can work approximately 15 hours per week, with flexibility around exams and your studies.

And personally, you

  • Bring a proactive, learning‑oriented mindset.
  • Ask the right questions and aren’t afraid to challenge “how we’ve always done it”.
  • Enjoy iterating, testing, and improving digital tools with users.
  • Want to see your work used in real operations, not just sitting in a report.

What do we offer?

You will gain hands-on experience developing digital solutions with visible impact on daily operations.  We offer close collaboration with operational users, opportunities to follow ideas from early concept through implementation, room to contribute your own perspectives, and professional development. The role is planned flexibly around your studies and gives you access to Arla’s student community.
