Step inside the world of finance and explore what happens on a busy trading floor, how major companies are financed and how a bank manages risk in changing markets and society. Women’s Academy is an 8-week student programme at Danske Bank’s headquarters, designed to give you first-hand insight into Large Corporates & Institutions and Group Risk & Compliance.
What you will be doing
Across eight weekly sessions, you will meet specialists from across Danske Bank who will introduce you to their work, share real perspectives from the industry and involve you in relevant business topics.
During the programme, you will:
Gain insight into how different parts of Danske Bank work together
Work with practical topics linked to finance, risk and business decisions
Hear directly from people working in the financial sector
Meet other students who are curious about finance
Become part of the Women’s Academy community
Take part in a celebratory dinner at the end of the programme
Receive a certificate of participation upon completing the Academy
The Academy was created to encourage more women to explore finance. Women are still underrepresented in several parts of the sector, and by opening our doors, sharing knowledge and providing access to role models, we want to make finance feel more accessible to a broader range of students.
About you
We welcome applications from university students between the second year of their bachelor’s degree and the second year of their master’s degree.
You do not need previous experience in banking or finance. You also do not need to know whether finance is the right career path for you yet. The Academy is a place to explore the sector from within and discover what captures your interest.
We are looking for students who:
Are curious about finance, business, markets or risk
Want to learn more about career opportunities in the financial sector
Are motivated to take an active part in discussions and sessions
Bring an open mindset and a willingness to explore new topics
Come from any academic background and are interested in learning from others
Practical information
Programme period: 8 weeks in Q1 2027
Duration: Eight weekly sessions of approximately three hours
Location: Danske Bank headquarters, Copenhagen
Application window: 2 November-23 November
Attendance: Participants are expected to attend all eight sessions
What we offer you
You will get a unique opportunity to experience the financial sector from the inside, meet specialists from across Danske Bank and build your understanding of how finance connects to companies, markets and society. You will also become part of a student community and gain access to people who can share their experiences, career paths and advice.
Are you ready to explore finance?
To apply, please submit your CV and answer five short questions about your motivation, what makes you curious about finance and what you hope to gain from Women’s Academy. Instead of submitting a cover letter, we would like to get to know your perspective through your answers. There are no right or wrong answers, and previous experience in banking or finance is not required. We encourage you to respond openly and honestly, drawing on the experiences that are meaningful to you, whether they come from your studies, work, interests or personal life.
