Product Manager – Connect market needs with smarter portfolio decisions

What does a strong product portfolio look like? Is it about offering more products, or about having the right products for the right markets? And are you comfortable making the commercial choices needed to get there?

That is one of the challenges waiting for you as our new Global Product Manager for Protective Wear at ABENA. You will step into a broad portfolio where you combine commercial understanding with a thorough, analytical approach, using data to assess product viability and profitability for the organization before making informed portfolio decisions.

You will play a crucial role in gathering input from and understanding our markets, challenge requests, turning insights into decisions, creating clarity and synergies around product initiatives, and ensuring that decisions translate into customer value and profitable growth across ABENA.

We are therefore looking for a Product Manager who combines an analytical and structured approach with the confidence to reach out, challenge assumptions, and move initiatives forward. Someone who wants to understand both the products and the business behind them.

Your key responsibilities will include

• Develop and optimize the Protective Wear portfolio, ensuring the assortment reflects market demand, commercial targets, and relevant regulatory requirements.
• Engage proactively with our sales organizations, partners, and customers with product expertise, product training, presentations, and identification of new market opportunities.
• Maintain accurate product data and documentation across systems including SAP, Axapta, and PIM, covering technical specifications, certificates, pricing, and regulatory information.
• Coordinate product availability and lifecycle activities, working closely with Supply Chain to support efficient product flow and help reduce excess stock and waste.
• Provide commercial and technical input for tenders, business analyses, marketing materials, packaging artwork, data sheets, and selected product-related projects.

What we’re looking for

• Hands-on experience with product or category management in a commercially driven environment, preferably within a highly regulated product area with extensive certification and compliance requirements.
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to challenge opportunities, requests, and assumptions when the business case does not add up.
• An analytical and structured approach, using data, customer insights, and product performance to make priorities and decisions.
• A proactive way of working, where you reach out to markets and colleagues to find the information you need rather than waiting for it to come to you.
• The curiosity to build strong product knowledge and navigate specifications, documentation, sustainability, and compliance requirements.
• Confidence working internationally in English and Danish, collaborating across functions, markets, and different commercial priorities.

Our Protective Wear team brings together a Global Category Manager, a Product Specialist, a Global Sourcing Specialist and Purchasing Coordinators. As the team develops, you’ll help shape how we collaborate and strengthen portfolio management, working closely with our sales organizations and markets.
