Head of Guarantees

We at Danske Bank connect global markets and help businesses grow. As Head of Guarantees, you will lead our guarantee teams across the Nordics, shaping the strategic direction of our business that sits at the heart of our Trade and Working Capital Solutions offering. 

What you will be doing

This is an opportunity to combine deep financial expertise with people leadership and digital innovation. You will join the Trade and Working Capital Solutions department, reporting to the Co-head and working within a matrix organisation that spans countries and functions. The team is collaborative and commercially minded, with a shared commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality service to clients. You will partner closely with teams across the organization and represent the guarantees business in internal forums and external industry discussions.

More specifically, you will:

• Set and execute the strategic direction for the guarantees business across the Nordics
• Lead the transformation of guarantee processes using AI, digitalisation and automation
• Develop and grow the guarantee teams, building capabilities and a clear succession pipeline
• Partner with sales and advisory teams to deliver guarantee solutions that meet client needs
• Ensure all activities comply with legal, regulatory and internal governance requirements
• Use business and service measures to identify improvements and build operational resilience

About you

• Degree in finance, economics, business or a related discipline
• Comprehensive knowledge of banking and global trade
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing specialist teams
• Strong understanding of AI, digitalisation and their responsible application in banking
• Comfortable working across countries and functions in a matrix organisation
• Clear commercial judgement with sound risk management awareness
• Professional fluency in English and at least one Nordic language

Familiarity with relevant legal and regulatory frameworks across multiple Nordic markets is an advantage. Experience with succession planning and talent development would also be a welcome addition, supporting you in your transformational leadership role.
