Are you interested in corporate treasury and motivated by combining financial analysis with practical execution?

If so, this is your opportunity to join Ascendis Pharma as our new Student Assistant for Treasury and gain hands-on experience in an international, fast-growing biopharmaceutical company.

Ascendis Pharma is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Guided by our core values of Patients, Science, and Passion, we are applying our innovative TransCon® technology platform to fulfill our mission of developing new therapies that demonstrate best-in-class potential to address unmet medical needs.

At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.

We are seeking a motivated and structured Student Assistant to support our Head of Treasury.

As a Student Assistant in Treasury, you will support analysis, reporting, documentation, and recurring operational activities across the treasury function. You will work closely with the Head of Treasury and collaborate with colleagues across Finance and the wider organization.

The role offers broad exposure to how a centralized treasury function manages liquidity, financial risk, funding, reporting, and banking relationships. You will contribute to both day-to-day activities and projects, with responsibilities developing as your knowledge and experience grow.

You will join a small, specialized Treasury team characterized by close collaboration, high professional standards, and an informal working environment.

You will report to the Head of Treasury, based in Hellerup.

As our new Student Assistant, you will support the Head of Treasury with:

  • Treasury policy: Preparing analyses, presentations, and documentation supporting treasury policies, investment strategy, and the Group’s approach to financial risk.
  • Cash management: Supporting daily liquidity monitoring, cash positioning, cash pool activities, cash flow forecasting, working capital analysis, and monitoring of financial investments.
  • Funding: Supporting analysis and documentation related to capital structure, bank funding, debt agreements, and convertible notes.
  • Risk management: Monitoring Group foreign exchange exposures and supporting FX transactions for liquidity and risk management purposes.
  • Treasury reporting: Preparing recurring reporting and explaining developments in treasury-related profit and loss and balance sheet items.
  • Bank relationships: Supporting bank administration, documentation, and follow-up with the Group’s relationship banks.
  • Projects and process improvement: Contributing to treasury projects, data analysis, process documentation, and automation initiatives.

Your Profile

You are currently enrolled in a relevant academic program within Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a similar field, preferably at the end of your bachelor’s degree or beginning your master’s degree.

You are curious about treasury and financial markets, comfortable working with data, and able to structure, follow up on, and complete tasks. You take ownership of your work, ask questions when needed, and enjoy collaborating in a dynamic environment.

 Furthermore, you have

  • Strong analytical skills and a flair for numbers
  • A structured approach and attention to detail
  • Reliability and the ability to handle recurring deadlines
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Curiosity, sound judgement, and willingness to learn

Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are important. Experience with ERP systems, financial data, Power BI, Power Automate, or similar tools is an advantage, but not a requirement.

Ascendis Pharma uses Microsoft Dynamics 365 and continues to develop its financial systems and processes. You should therefore be interested in learning new tools and contributing to more efficient, data-driven ways of working.

Also, you are proficient in English, both written and spoken.

Work hours: Approx. 15-20 hours a week. We want you to be able to balance your studies and work responsibilities and therefore offer flexibility during exam periods.
