The position

ALK is looking for a strategic and experienced Director, Finance Digital Transformation, to lead the contribution from Finance’s to the SAP S/4HANA transformation and drive the continuous development of ALK’s Finance application landscape.

In this role, you will ensure that finance requirements, controls, data integrity, and reporting needs are embedded in the future ERP landscape. You will also lead the roadmap for SAP, BW/BI, AI, and automation initiatives while building a centre of excellence for finance applications and projects.

As the primary interface between Finance, Global Business IT (GBIT), and external implementation partners, you will play a key role in shaping how technology enables Finance across ALK.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Finance workstream in the SAP S/4HANA transformation from requirements and design through testing, cutover, and hypercare.

• Represent Finance in programme governance and manage finance-related risks, decisions, controls, data migration, and reporting requirements.

• Develop and maintain Finance’s application and technology strategy in cooperation with the Global Finance Board.

• Lead, develop, and motivate a team of 3–5 finance application and project specialists.

• Oversee the operation, maintenance, improvement, and governance of core finance applications, including SAP, BW/BI, and related finance systems.

• Identify and lead opportunities involving AI, automation, advanced analytics, and self-service reporting.

• Manage the Finance IT project portfolio, including prioritisation, resourcing, delivery, and status reporting.

• Coordinate system releases, upgrades, testing, access management, documentation, training, and user support.

• Ensure appropriate finance master data management and coordinate Finance IT audit deliverables.

• Act as the primary Finance partner to GBIT, SAP implementation partners, technology vendors, and external consultants.

Experience and qualifications

• Master’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.

• At least 8 years of experience in finance systems, finance IT, or related roles.

• Hands-on experience with SAP finance modules; experience with SAP S/4HANA is strongly preferred.

• Experience leading or playing a senior role in a major ERP transformation.

• Knowledge of BW/BI platforms and finance reporting or planning solutions.

• Experience with AI, automation, or advanced analytics in a finance context is an advantage.

• Proven people leadership experience, preferably managing a team of specialists.

• Strong project and programme management skills; relevant certification such as PMP or PRINCE2 is an advantage.

• Strong understanding of finance systems integration, governance, controls, and data management.

• Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, communication, and negotiation skills.

• Structured, analytical, and process-oriented approach with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

• Fluent written and spoken English.
